Get Ready to Vote on LEED-ND!

CNU Conducting "Voter Registration" for LEED-ND Ballot

The inception of the LEED for Neighborhood Development (LEED-ND) rating system is almost complete! As a CNU member, we will be asking you to weigh in on whether or not to approve the current version of the rating system for public launch. The vote will take place online at cnu.org/leednd starting later this month and will run for 30 days. How you vote will remain confidential.

Since this is the first time CNU has asked members to vote online, we are conducting a "voter registration" drive! In order to take part in the LEED-ND electronic ballot, you must be a current CNU member and you will need your CNU.org login. Please log in to your CNU.org account now to verify your membership status and ensure you will be able to log in to vote in the coming weeks. We will be posting more information about the current version of the LEED-ND rating system soon. In the meantime, check out the existing resources available at cnu.org/leednd.

If you're not sure what your password is, you can request a new one at http://www.cnu.org/user/password. Enter the email address on your account ([email]), then click "Email new password" to request a temporary login. You should receive an automated email within several minutes with a login link (be sure to check your spam box if you don't see it). Follow the instructions in the email and use the one-time login link to access your account. Note that the email contains a login link, not a password. After clicking the login link, you will be redirected to your account settings page to set your password.

LEED for Neighborhood Development
CNU has partnered with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC) to lay out a coordinated and powerful environmental strategy: sustainability at the scale of neighborhoods and communities. The joint venture, known as LEED for Neighborhood Development (or LEED-ND), is a system for rating and certifying green neighborhoods. LEED-ND builds on USGBC’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) systems, the world's best-known third-party verification that a development meets high standards for environmental responsibility. LEED-ND integrates the principles of new urbanism, green building, and smart growth into the first national standard for neighborhood design, expanding LEED's scope beyond individual buildings to a more holistic concern about the context of those buildings.
