LEED-ND Member Ballot Now Open

Cast Your Vote on the Rating System Before Thur., Sept. 17

Dear [firstname],

CNU is requesting the input of its members on whether to approve the current version of LEED for Neighborhood Development (LEED-ND) 2009 rating system. CNU has partnered with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC) to lay out a system that rates and certifies green neighborhoods. After 6 years and many revisions, the three partner organizations are each conducting their own vote to approve it for public launch. CNU is asking its full membership to participate in this decision. Your input is important CNU and to the future direction of the new urbanist movement.

CNU's first member ballot is being conducted online at cnu.org/leednd for 30 days -- starting today, Wednesday, August 19, and closing Thursday, September 17. In order to take part in the LEED-ND electronic ballot, you must be a current CNU member and you will need your CNU.org login.

Not sure how you want to vote?

  1. Visit the CNU LEED-ND website to download a copy of the ballot version of the LEED-ND 2009 rating system, as well as background materials, earlier drafts, and information about the pilot projects.
  2. Check out the recommendation to CNU members on the LEED-ND ballot from the New Urbanist representatives on the LEED-ND core committee as well as members of the CNU Board and USGBC's Location and Planning Technical Advisory Group.
  3. Visit the CNU Salons to participate in a discussion with other CNU members about the rating system.
