Existing home sales in the suburban counties around Detroit decreased by as much as 30% while sales went up in the city by 8%. The Michigan Association of Realtors tracked sales of existing homes in Metro Detroit from Jan. 1 to Nov. 30, 2006 and found an average decline of 14% compared with the same period in 2005. Check out Detroit is bright spot amid Michigan's sagging sales in the Chicago Tribune.
At CNU XV, we'll investigate this upsurge by discussing trends with Detroit's top developers and market researchers. Two Detroit Sessions will appear on this year's program to take a special look at the Motor City. Find out what role new urbanists can play in the redevelopment of America's most stigmatized city.
Early Registration is now open for CNU XV in Philadelphia, May 17-20, 2007. We've begun posting preliminary details about the Congress at CNUXV.org -- check out the Schedule At-a-Glance or the preliminary Session List to learn about other topics being covered at this year's Congress.
