As it enters its 10th year, CNU's Charter Awards program has generated more than 1200 entries and recognized 147 projects from 93 firms or schools.
Project types recognized in the early years of the program now represent major trends in real estate development and community renewal — transit-oriented development, suburban mall retrofits, Hope VI transformations, and conversions of former military bases and post-industrial brownfields into walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods. Award winners demonstrate excellence in fulfilling and advancing the principles of the Charter of the New Urbanism. In so doing, they demonstrate the ability of work inspired by the Charter to transform communities for the better.
CNU invites you to submit your work for the 10th anniversary 2010 Charter Awards. The submission deadline is January 18, 2010 [note newly extended submission date]. See the awards site for full details.
