Attention planners, architects and builders: Give us a little credit. Everyone else is. In fact, America's leading associations for urban planners and architects are offering valuable Continuing Education (CE) credits for attending the CNU 18.
CNU 18 will offer continuing education credits for the following professions, for many of the sessions included in the conference program:
* Architects (through the American Institute of Architects (AIA))
* Planners (AICP only through the American Planner Association (APA))
* Landscape Architects (through the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA))
* Georgia Municipal Association Continuing Education (CE) credits
Plenty of sessions at this year's Congress for the New Urbanism will be receiving AIA and AICP accreditation, providing attendees with additional opportunities to pursue two of the most coveted certifications for architects and planners. The AIA and APA determine the eligibility of our Congress program for credits and require that sessions be finalized before we can apply for credit for them. As of this week, we have applied for AICP credit for a large majority sessions of the Congress - approximately 95 total - and expect confirmation about them soon. Submission of sessions for AIA credits is ongoing and credits for a number of sessions (including seven 202 sessions) already have already been confirmed.
Last year, an overwhelming number of the breakouts and plenary sessions for CNU 17 were approved for AIA and AICP accreditation. Out of 144 sessions, 44 received AIA credit approval and 113 received AICP approval. With a program boasting 95 sessions this year, it will be easy to tailor your own Congress experience by selecting sessions that will not only interest you but also contribute to your continuing education.
