Showcasing narrow streets, a connected network and a new Form-Based Code CNU members toured Davidson, North Carolina as part of the annual CNU transportation summit. Town Planning Director J. Kris Krider led the tour the town of the town showcasing a new roundabout, several examples of connections within neighborhoods and a mixture of retail and commercial. Krider gave several examples of how Davidson maintains its character from requiring all commercial properties to have a fully functioning second story which keeps out big box retailers to installing roundabouts to resisting NC DOT widening the main street next to Davidson College. Overall this is a beautiful community with a lot of character and many lessons to be learned.
