CNU weighs in on 2009 stimulus with proven housing strategies

CNU chair Ray Gindroz, president John Norquist, and board member Sam Sherman recently sent a memo to Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), chair of the Financial Services Committee, regarding ways to incorporate New Urbanist principles into a forthcoming housing-stimulus bill due to be introduced in January 2009.

In the memo, CNU recommends extending and expanding several key programs that have proven remarkably effective at helping local governments and developers respond to the demand for quality, affordable housing in safe, diverse communities. Read on for more details.
