Sustainable Urbanism Module by Farr Associates
The Center for Applied Transect Studies (CATS) announces the availability as freeware of the new Sustainable Urbanism Performance-based SmartCode Module, written by Farr Associates with Leslie Oberholtzer as lead author. The firm's principal, Doug Farr, is the author of the acclaimed book Sustainable Urbanism: Urban Design with Nature.
The Sustainable Urbanism Module includes seven transect-based tables and text standards as listed below. Sections are coordinated to the Articles of the model SmartCode, but any portion of the Module may be plugged in to any transect-based code and calibrated for local conditions. The tables are extensively annotated to guide calibrators.
