Join IGO CarSharing for Details on the "Future of Transportation"
IGO CarSharing will be hosting lunch and a panel discussion on the "Future of Transportation" Wednesday, July 11, 2012. As Chicago's leading non-profit carsharing organization, IGO is celebrating 10 years within the Chicago region. The panel discussion will include three key speakers - Gabe Klein, Timothy Papandreou, and Sharon Feigon. Mr. Klein is the Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Transportation, as well as the former Director of the Washington D.C. Department of Transportation. Mr. Papandreou is the Deputy Director of Sustainable Streets - Strategic Planning and Policy for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency; he also represents the agency at several other boards on transportation. Ms. Feigon has been the CEO of IGO CarSharing for seven years. She is also a member of the Congress for New Urbanism and founder of the CarSharing Association.
The three panelists will discuss the the future of multi-modal transportation in the Chicago region, as well as creating more livable communities through innovation transportation programs. Attendees will also learn more about the Chicago Card Plus I-GO card, which allows cardholders to switch between the IGO CarSharing program and public transportation provided by the CTA.
IGO brings an important realization to Chicago residents: it really is possible to make the more sustainable switch to transportation without a personal car. As the CTA continues to expand and update its buses and trains, IGO can be the added bonus for the in-between. The IGO CarSharing option will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote healthy, quality lifestyles.
