This will be the 2nd of 3 sessions in an introductory course in sustainable design, construction and operations of buildings and communities will address the following: introduction to basic concepts and terms of sustainability, the business case for green buildings, recent trends and future forecast related to this new way of thinking. Whether it's your home, place of work, or child's school any building can be made healthier, more efficient and better for the environment--this program will address the many ways that sustainable thinking can benefit our built environment
About the Speaker:
Doug Kot is the Executive Director of US Green Building Council - San Diego Chapter. Doug is an architect and planner with more than 14 years of experience with green building and environmentally sustainable planning projects. His experience includes all phases and scales of project development - from writing general plans through building detailing to conceptual design through post-occupancy evaluation.
