CNU 23DALLAS/FORT WORTH 4/29-5/2/2015»»» Addressing the Challenges of Change
Submitted by Filmanowicz on Thu, 04/19/2007 - 1:11pm
Description:
The Charter of the New Urbanism promotes mixed-income neighborhoods as the best model for cities and suburbs. But maintaining a mixed-income neighborhood is a balancing act. After public subsidies and careful planning jump-start revitalization in a distressed area, it is often difficult to retain the qualities that made a neighborhood special and the housing that made it affordable. This session will help us address local concerns about
change, gentrification, and equity for existing neighborhoods.
