Description:
As we continue to confront global climate change, the role of Urbanism – new and old - will become increasingly central to the sustainability of our environment. A big share of the green house gases that contribute to rising global temperatures is caused by transportation. New Urbanist priorities – such as public transit and density – lead to efficient energy use, while lessening harmful air emissions. CNU board member and Prince’s Foundation CEO Hank Dittmar has prepared this concise presentation documenting the relationship between sprawl and global climate change and the role of urbanism as a remedy.
