ARNHEM CITY CENTER
Location: Arnhem, Netherlands. Block of Industrial Structures
The project breaks open a block of industrial structures to create new blocks of residential and retail surrounding a new market square. Proposed new structures would clarify and define existing streets. The new square will connect with the primary retail corridor of the town via a glass-enclosed passage. Larger blocks will have big box retail at their cores, wrapped with smaller retailers at the street edge and capped with residential. Through block passages and a pedestrian only zone encourage walking for younger and older citizens. The project embraces historical design in the area.
