Meridian Court
Location: Pasadena, CA. Adjacent to transit stations and commerical centers.
Meridian Court is situated on a small infill site in a mixed-use neighborhood, within walking distance to two Gold Line transit stations and the major commercial centers of Pasadena. Located next door to Wallace Neff’s 1929 architectural offices (now those of Moule & Polyzoides), the Meridian Court project recaptures the quiet appeal of the traditional court type. This courtyard housing project wraps ten townhouses around a single large shared courtyard at a density of twenty-five dwellings per acre. The units range from 1,300 to 1,800 sf, offering a more affordable alternative to a single-family house to first-time homebuyers. The organization of dwellings around a courtyard maximizes the use of natural light and cross-ventilation. Each dwelling is designed as a unique place, with its own size, internal configuration, and special living quality. Each has individual patios, rich and drought-tolerant landscape, access to a common courtyard with fountain, and underground parking.
