Placentia-Westgate
Location: Placentia, CA. Northern Orange County
The northern orange county community of Placentia's historic core serves as the platform for a 110-acre transit-oriented district which restores the original town site of Placita Santa Fe and produces two new neighborhoods out of derelict industrial land. A walkable network of varied blocks, plazas, parks and streetscapes regenerates the community's century-long relationship with the rail corridor to produce up to 1500 new dwellings, 200,000 square feet of retail and 450,000 square feet of office development. The plan transforms conventional suburban megablocks into a fine-grained pattern with which to internally expand the community and produce varied open spaces and civic sites. The Specific Plan includes a form-based code and detailed implementation program with which to effectively realize the vision.
