PLAN FOR UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SANTA BARBARA
Location: Santa Barbara, CA United States. Campus
The plan reworks the previous campus layout, a disorienting array of buildings with obstructed views and few connections to the surrounding town and natural areas. The plan accommodates 2.2 million square feet of additional academic, residential, and administrative space in a configuration of buildings defined by the character and quality of the urban space they create. It sets the conditions for transforming the campus into and interconnected system of public spaces linked both physically and psychologically to its urban and natural surroundings.
