Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA, USA. Rapidly-growing 9-county area surrounding San Francisco Bay in northern California
An elaborate collaboration between five regional agencies, 40 nonprofit organizations, and over 2,000 public participants. The process created a regional growth strategy featuring examples of place types that could help fulfill that growth strategy. The plan gives local leaders and residents a way to see how local development could fit into the region, consuming a projected 82 percent less undeveloped land.
