The DOT's contention that 40,000 cars and trucks can't move at a reasonable speed on an at-grade boulevard amounts to very bad advice at taxpayer expense -- there is simply no reason that Buffalo's waterfront must be conceived of as a raceway for commuters, with a token landscaped frontage road running alongside it.
Excellent leadership by local citizens and Councilman Mickey Kearns who correctly identifies the DOT's vision as owing more to Robert Moses than Olmsted!
