Chicago Sun-Times: "Save money and the planet: try walking."
The Chicago Homes section of the Chicago Sun-Times highlights the benefits of walkable neighborhoods and new urbanism in a recent article. According to Walk Score, Chicago ranks as the fourth most walkable major city in the nation. And with so many benefits - including convenience, low transportation costs, and an abundance of rich culture - Chicago and other walkable cities are weathering this tumultuous development climate. CNU President and CEO John Norquist notes that "every succeeding generation is more interested in urban living and traditional design. Household sizes are getting smaller, and people want to be in a community atmosphere with more complex, interesting environment."
