CNU New England Chapter Gears Up to Host Sustainable Urbanism Summit

For those in New Haven, CT this week, The New England Chapter of the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU New England) will be playing host to a two-day Sustainable Urbanism summit from Thursday, March 17th-Friday, March 18th. The summit features figures central to the New Urbanism movement, including CNU Board Members Doug Farr (delivering a keynote lecture Thursday evening at 6:30pm), Dhiru Thadani (speaking Friday at 12pm), Norman Garrick and a closing speech, via telecast, by one of CNU founders, Peter Calthorpe.

The Sustainable Urbanism Summit aims to inspire and connect professionals, public servants, academics, and citizens, who together will seed a larger campaign towards tackling the myriad environmental and economic crises that undercut our cities and towns. With a long history of advocacy for better-living-through-better-design, CNU and the CNU New England chapter encourage public discussion and participation in the planning process as solutions for sustainable growth are fostered and applied.
