Submitted by zoe on Fri, 05/02/2008 - 11:34am
Description:
Practitioners discuss how form-based codes succeed in promoting orderly downtown development, from mixed-use Main Streets to adjacent neighborhoods. Topics include protecting/enhancing community identity; encouraging the right uses for Main Street; providing for compatibility between different uses; providing incentive mechanisms to address disparate interests; facilitating housing diversity; providing for safe/effective traffic and appropriate parking; and conserving natural, cultural and historic resources.
