SNU Congress I

To anyone interested in the first Students for New Urbanism Conference:

This post is to notify you about the first Students for New Urbanism Congress
to be held this October at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
SNU-ND and the School of Architecture are excited to host this three-day event,
which will feature several keynote speakers, round-table discussions between
professionals, teachers, and students, and chances to interact with
representatives of various firms involved in the field. We will focus on
discussing the past history and present state of New Urbanism, and how today’s
students can influence and change the future.

The conference will commence with a soiree on Friday night, October 5, 2007.
That evening, and through Saturday, there will be several round-table
discussions and speakers, culminating with a keynote speaker Saturday evening.
The event will end on Sunday with a final brunch and further discussions about
the future. More details will be released once the schedule of speakers is
finalized.

The full conference fee, including admission to all events and meals, is $45.00
for students and $60.00 for professors and professionals. The meals are being
sponsored by several planning firms that focus on New Urbanism, as well as
other organizations. Throughout the weekend, there will be many opportunities
for students to meet and chat personally with firm representatives.
