It makes sense that the USGBC Redwood Chapter is located in Sonoma Mountain Village.

It is no accident that the USGBC Redwood Chapter,(known as USGBC-REC), is located at Sonoma Mountain Village. This new urbanist development, which is registered in the LEED ND pilot program, is targeting to reach Platinum certification. It is also the first in the U.S. to be recognized as a One Planet Community by BioRegional UK. The newly launched Sonoma Mountain Village website explains this sustainability in design achievement:
"This initiative of sustainability experts BioRegional UK helps forward-thinking municipalities and real estate developers build neighborhoods that reduce the ecological footprint of residents to a truly sustainable “one planet” level. SOMO’s comprehensive Sustainability Action Plan, which has been approved and endorsed by One Planet Communities, will ensure our sustainable goals are mapped out and measured. This endorsement is a sign of the highest achievement in sustainable design".
The website also provides a list of principles that make up the "one planet ecological footprint" of sustainable community design. Check it out here: http://www.sonomamountainvillage.com/community/one-planet-principles.php
