The image is a drawing done by the author, simply expressing visually what I would be seeing from the place I grew up. Looking back, I might wonder how I can look back further in time and see how a city like New York, and my "old" neighborhood came into existence, how it has changed and constantly evolved while the world has changed, and at the same time how it has remained unchanged in other ways.

Your post reminds me of the Borges poem "Hard to believe Buenos Aires had any beginning/I feel it to be as eternal as air and water." The same could be said for NYC.
